Philips DVP3570/F7 HDMI 1080p Upscaling DVD Player, Black

I chose this player because of all the compressed video formats it is capable of playing. I do wish it played AVI files as well, but 3 out of 4 is pretty darn good. The picture quality is excellent. I am using an HDMI cable with it. I did notice some improvement with the HDMI cable over a video cable, so I recommend that connection method. Controls are easy to use, the remote is simple to use. There is no front panel display but there is really no need for one. We have had it for 3 weeks so far, no problems so far. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

I have only had it for about a month and every thing is good so far,the only thing i don't care for is the remote,it has only the basic of functions.

This is the second Philips DVD player that I have owned. The first one was a gift. Within a year it was not playing properly and pausing consistently throughout the DVD's. It was a new DVD so it wasn't because of scratches on the media. I decided to try another Philips DVD player and in less than a couple of months of owning it, it started doing the same thing as the first one. I tried the DVD's in other players and it worked without problem, so I know it is the DVD player. I am not buying another Philips DVD player. I'm wasting my money that I should be putting towards one of better quality. I am writing this for those that take the time to read the reviews. I am doing more of that these days and appreciate the opinions of those that have posted reviews. In this time of tight economy, no one can afford to waste their hard earned money! I paid a little less than $50 for it, so I guess you can't buy quality with that amount any more, at least not with Philips.
